Switch controller is useful if you do not want to active certain components. Here I will be using this switch to turn on/off some fans and a CCFL tube back light.
Remember to wear safety goggles and gloves when you are handling tools. It helps to prevent unnecessary injuries. If you are not confident or not adult enough to handle tools.
Kindly consult adults or experience tool user and please be really CAREFUL and ALERT
when you are doing this as you are dealing with electrical stuff. This involves a fair bit of risk on an untrained user especially when it comes to mod on electrical current.
I will not hold any responsibilities for any injuries or damage done.
BLUE PRINT
Kindly understand the diagram below before you proceed to mod. I am using 6pin PDT switch if you do not know how it works, kindly refer to this page
Tools and material needed. a marker, a pair of scissors, a glue gun, 1 4pin molex connector, a soldering iron & bit, 4 x 6pin PDT switches, hand drill & bits, rubber shrink, lose cable, 3pin fan header, a ruler, a 3 1/2" bay slot (or you can use 5 1/4" bay) and a mini bench vise.
Using a marker, mark out the measurements on the 3 1/2" bay slot with a ruler.
Using a hand drill and the smallest drill bit, drill pilot holes on the marked areas.
Find the correct size of drill bit base on the 6pin PDT switch diameter.
Drill again on the pilot holes.
Screw the switches on to the 3 1/2" bay slot.
using lose wires, prepare the wires needed to be solder on the switches. Kindly refer to the blue print above.
Solder these prepared wires to the switches base on the blue print.
This is how it looks like when all soldering are done.
now for the fans connections and CCFL tube connection. stripe wires with scissors and place some rubber shrink.
