Always wanted a ram cooler to cool down my rams, of course you can purchase it off the bookshelf but I choose to mod these instead.
Remember to wear safety goggles and gloves when you are handling tools. It helps to prevent unnecessary injuries. If you are not confident or not adult enough to handle tools.
Kindly consult adults or experience tool user and please be really CAREFUL and ALERT
when you are doing this as you are dealing with electrical stuff. This involves a fair bit of risk on an untrained user especially when it comes to mod on electrical current.
I will not hold any responsibilities for any injuries or damage done.
BLUE PRINT
Kindly understand the diagram below before you proceed to mod.
Tools and material needed. A soldering iron & bit, 6 cable tie, 4 x 40mm fans, an unused 5 1/4" bay mesh, a pair of scissors, lose wires, 4 x long bolt screws & Nut, plate washing sponge,
scotch tapes and a mini bench vise.
secure between fans using cable tie.
It should look like this when everything is secure in place. Next remove the stickers to remove the solder of all the existing fan cables.
Clamp on the mini bench vise and start removing the solders to remove those cables.
Using lose wires, prepare them in series to be solder back to the fans. This enable you to operate all the 40mm fans using only 1 connector.
This is how it looks like when it's done. Place back the stickers and place aside.
Take the 5 1/4" mesh bay and do some measurements. Basically using this mesh bay to form legs for the ram cooler unit.
Using a wire cutter, cut and form the shape of the legs.
