3 PIN FAN HUB
As mention, this device is similar to the SIMPLE FAN BAY BUS. It's an enhance version of it and hence it's specially cater for fans with 3pin molex. If you intend to plug all 8 fans into this unit, kindly bear in mind not to plug in all 8 fans rating above 0.35amp as you might overload the 4pin molex from your power supply.

Remember to wear safety goggles and gloves when you are handling tools. It helps to prevent unnecessary injuries. If you are not confident or not adult enough to handle tools. Kindly consult adults or experience tool user and please be really CAREFUL and ALERT when you are doing this as you are dealing with electrical stuff. This involves a fair bit of risk on an untrained user especially when it comes to mod on electrical current. I will not hold any responsibilities for any injuries or damage done.

BLUE PRINT

Kindly understand the diagram below before you proceed to mod.

Tools and material needed. A hobby box, a PCB hobby kit, a pair of scissors, 8 x 3pin molex header, soldering iron and bit, hand drill and bits, mini bench vise, ready made 4pin molex and a ruler.

Just to show you what's a 3pin header, it's on the left of the picture above.

This is the side where you do markings on the PCB hobby kit.

This is the side where you do your soldering.

As it's too big for this PCB hobby kit to fit into the Hobby Box, I did some measurements to be cut.

Using a pen knife, I cut the PCB hobby kit to size. This allow me to place this into the hobby box.

Paste one stripe of double sided tape on the marking side of the PCB, align 8 x 3pin header nicely at the center.

Once you are happy with the arrangement, use an existing fan connector and connect either end of the fan hub. Observe which is the positive and negative pin. In this case red which is the center is positive and black is negative.
